Our objective at Ujwal is to help people get higher paying jobs, by providing them with resources to get trained on various subjects related to their areas of interest and their current experience.

We select deserving candidates that cannot afford to pay the training fees.

The qualities we look for in these candidates are:

1. Motivation to do better and wanting to live a better lifestyle
2. Have some working experience
3. Living with a family (any of: parents, siblings, spouse, and children)
4. Must be a resident in the current city for at least the last 5 years
5. A clean police record

Some of the areas we will look for to start as a pilot are:

1. Driving (4-wheeler)
2. Spoken English
3. Typing
4. Computer Literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office)

We will be starting with a pilot project where we will invest Rs. 200,000 (about US $4500). We plan to train about 20 students in the next 3-6 months. We will try to find them jobs after they finish their training.

Once we have established the process, and helped people find better paying jobs (say about 50% more than what they are making now), we will try and launch this on a bigger scale.

To start with our pilot project, we will have just 1 or 2 people who will run the administration of the pilot project.
